Maya CARE – The Next Best Thing to Family

The Maya CARE Community Interest Company (CIC) was conceived as a dream to assist senior citizens and persons with disabilities in activities that would offer them convenience, independence and happiness while continuing to live in their own homes or in assisted living. The dream is a movement propelled by a growing network of volunteers across the UK.

Maya CARE services are offered FREE of charge.

Maya CARE services are available across Milton Keynes and select areas of Cambridge and London.

Maya CARE provides assistance through 90-minute visits or audio/video calls helping senior citizens and people with disability with transactions or companionship.

Maya CARE DOES NOT provide emergency, nursing, cleaning or gardening services

How does Maya CARE work?

• Helpline telephone number and website/published email for senior citizens/people with disability to reach out to Maya CARE.
• The nature of the request is captured by the Maya CARE admin team.
• A suitable volunteer is identified (volunteers pre-register with Maya CARE) and need to submit standard documentation to demonstrate they are legally permitted to work with vulnerable adults.
• Maya CARE Admin introduces the volunteer to the person requesting the service.
• The volunteer visits and fulfils the requirement.

Since the inception of Maya CARE Foundation in India in 2009, our Founders Abhay Joshi and Manjiri Gokhale Joshi have funded the service through their personal income.
